Lokal is participating in this year’s HDW Design Market novelty, which is the Collectors’ Market with a focus on unique items and limited editions. We welcome you to make special finds amongst some almost-forgotten gems with a quirk or two, straight from the artists’ studios.

Hanni Koroma is an award-winning Finnish interior architect and furniture designer. In her work, Koroma combines functionality and aesthetics into timeless entities where her philosophic values in sustainable and playful design meet. Koroma says that space is like a poem that evolves constantly. Her new Lohkoja cabinets are centrepieces of our summer exhibition Butterflies & Seeds.
Heini Hölttä is a Finnish photography artist who has for long been based in Oslo.
Pasi Karjula is a highly individual sculptor who uses mainly wood as his material, a post-informalist who cavorts with formless forms.
Kati Ruohomäki’s artistic practice focuses on painting, text works and small publications. She is interested in the parallel existence of the invisible next to the tangible.

Minna Arponen is a jewellery designer and maker from Helsinki. Recently, she’s been fascinated by the tiny glass beads that she used to play with in her childhood. We visited her studio where most of her pieces take form, if not in her lap on tram rides through the city.
