These terms and conditions apply to the entire contents and orders placed at Lokal’s website (“Site”). Please read these terms carefully before placing an order. Placing an order indicates that you accept the terms. These terms will form a contract between you and Lokal. From time to time, Lokal may change these terms and conditions by updating the terms and conditions on the Site.

Customer Care



Selection of the Online Store

Lokal’s online selection includes handmade and/or unique artwork and homeware items. As items are handmade, slight variations per item are characteristics to the pieces and should not be considered as faulty products.

The items available in this online shop are not always on display at our physical gallery/store in Helsinki, and vice versa. If you wish to purchase anything that is not included in our online selection, please don’t hesitate to contact us at customerservice@lokalhelsinki.com.

We cannot, unfortunately, guarantee that all items in our online shop are in stock at the time of your order. If you do purchase an item which we cannot supply straight away, we will contact you by email.




Payments are made via Klarna (only Europe) or Stripe. You may pay via credit card, we accept most credit cards. With Klarna, you may choose a direct bank transfer or to pay later in terms.



All markets except Switzerland:
In order to offer you Klarna’s payment methods, we might in the checkout pass your personal data in the form of contact and order details to Klarna, in order for Klarna to assess whether you qualify for their payment methods and to tailor those payment methods for you. Your personal data transferred is processed in line with Klarna’s own privacy notice​.

Switzerland only:
Billpay’s/Klarna’s payment options: In order to be able to offer you Klarna’s payment options and to assess whether you qualify for their payment options and to tailor the payment options for you, we might in the checkout pass your personal data in the form of contact and order details to Klarna and Billpay. Your personal data is handled in accordance with applicable data protection law and in accordance with the information in Klarna’s [​de,f​r,​ i​t​ or ​en​ versions] and Billpay’s [​de,​ f​r​, i​t​ or e​n​ versions] privacy notices.”



Stripe is another payment facilitator of the Site and the payment process is conducted in the online service of Stripe. All information is exchanged through secured connections. Stripe Terms and Privacy Policy are found here.

The trade happens between the online customer and Lokal.




The prices displayed on this site are quoted in Euro, including Finnish VAT (24%). For unique artworks that have 0% or 10% VAT depending on the artists. For customers outside the EU, prices are displayed VAT 0%. Prices do not include delivery or custom costs with some exceptions regarding artwork. Artwork prices include shipping costs within Europe unless stated otherwise. Orders from non-EU countries might be subject to duties and/or taxes. Duties and/or taxes are the responsibility of the customer and are due at the time of delivery.

Shipping / Delivery


We currently ship artwork to Europe, the United States and Japan. It is possible to delivery to other countries as well, in which case, please contact us at info@lokalhelsinki.com. The artwork prices include shipping costs within Europe unless other stated on an artwork page. To ship an artwork to the United States or Japan, please contact info@lokalhelsinki.com to get a quote for the shipping that is additional to the artwork price. Please note, that if an artwork is part of a current exhibition, the artwork piece will be shipped after the exhibition ends. If you wish to receive the artwork prior ending of the exhibition, please contact info@lokalhelsinki.com

At the moment the artwork orders are normally dispatched within the next 1-4 working days after you have placed the order.



We currently ship products to Europe. It is possible to delivery to other countries as well, in which case, please contact us at info@lokalhelsinki.com.

Orders to Finland are sent via Posti or DHL Express. With Posti, the delivery time is 2-4 business days and with DHL Express, the delivery time is 1-2 business days within Finland. The delivery prices are calculated at the checkout. You can also choose a store pick-up on weekdays at Lokal Galley at Annankatu 9, Helsinki. Once your online order (within 1-4 days) is ready for a pick-up you will be notified via an email.

Other European countries

All orders in Europe are delivered via DHL Express and depending on the destination in the Europe, the delivery time is currently 2-7 business days. The shipping costs will be calculated at the check-out.


Order Confirmations


Any orders you place at the Site will form a valid contract between you and Lokal.

We reserve the right at all times and at our sole discretion to cancel your order for compulsory reason, such as the unavailability of a product, errors in the prices or product descriptions posted on the Site.



If you wish to return the ordered item, you must inform us of the return within fourteen (14) days from the receipt of the ordered item. Please inform us by an e-mail, which includes your order ID number. You will receive instructions on how to proceed via e-mail. The return costs are on customer’s responsibility.

Returns must meet the following requirements:
– The item is to be in new condition,
– The returned item must correspond to the item delivered,
– The item is returned in its original packaging in good condition, all in a package properly closed.

Should you have used the item and, therefore, it does not correspond with the item delivered, you are liable for the reduction of value, in maximum to the total value of the item.

Should the item be an unique artwork piece, made-on-order, personalized or customized for you, it cannot be returned.

If you have received a wrong or faulty item you must inform us at info@lokalhelsinki.com with no further delay within 4 days from receiving the item. Follow the instructions for the return received by an email from us.

Defective Goods and Liability


We have a mandatory liability for defects based on the applicable consumer regulations. You have a right to return the defective items. Please inform us of any defective items as soon as possible. We will try to replace these items with a identical item, undamaged item as soon as we get a replacement.

If by chance the item has broken during the transport, please notify us without delay within 1-3 days after receiving the parcel, and please make sure to send us a picture of the damage, also the package.

Notwithstanding the applicable mandatory regulation, you agree to that Lokal’s total liability shall be limited to the purchase price actually paid to Lokal.

Intellectual Property Rights


All elements on the Site are protected by copyright or other intellectual property rights. They remain the exclusive property of Lokal or its service providers.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction


Any dispute concerning these conditions is to be settled in accordance with Finnish law, since Lokal/Lokal Company Oy is situated in Finland, and since Finland is the country where all business transactions take place. Lokal/Lokal Company Oy (Business ID: 3235728-2) follows the recommendations of the National Board for Consumer Complaints.
