Jaakko Hukkanen
Jaakko Hukkanen (b. 1991) is a visual artist from Helsinki who creates views to a quiet world with his paintings. Using painting, he explores colour and spatial experiences on a two-dimensional surface. Hukkanen is graduating with a master’s degree in fine arts from the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of the Arts Helsinki in the spring of 2023. He has also studied at the Bologna Academy of Fine Arts in Italy. Hukkanen has showed his works in Finland and abroad.

“With my paintings, I create views to a world, which with its silence offers space for self-listening. The inevitable forward movement of time does not seem valid in the inner world of the paintings. It invites you to stop and be present.”
