Outi Koivisto (b. 1982) is a visual artist who employs different methods of drawing, printmaking and writing in her art. As subjects she focuses on themes of landscape, perception, and language. She graduated with an MA from Aalto University in 2016 and has worked as a visual artist since 2009. Her works have been presented in several solo and group exhibitions. In 2015, she received third prize in The XII Baltic States Biennale of Graphic Art exhibition at the Kaliningrad Art Museum, Russia. Currently she is continuing her studies at the Aalto University as a PhD student in the field of contemporary art.

“Words are very important to me and I’ve done quite a lot of works based on text through the years. In my work, I often start from the etymology of the word, and it seemed like a natural approach this time as well. The word manifesto is terribly fascinating, it entails some kind of declaration and the touch of the hand. That’s what I set out to explore in this work.”
