“The Ammonites collection is inspired by ammonites, fossil sea animals that lived millions of years ago. Ammonites grew a spiral chamber around themselves for protection. The chamber grew larger as the creature grew inside. Those beautifully calcified, pearly chambers have been preserved in fossil deposits through the ages. The series consists of organically flowing reliefs in which I have used delicately shimmering undyed and lightly hand-dyed wild silk.”
