White Wall | Jenni Tuominen: Haaveilija 8.–26.10.2024

“This summer was full of memories of the past and dreams of the future. I traveled back in time, bringing historical imagery and atmosphere to my gouache paintings. I dreamt that I can eat oranges on the beach or herd cows in the meadow, like my grandmother did before me.

In the ink drawings, I used twigs and sticks as drawing tools. Their uncontrollable trail brings fascinating coincidences onto the paper. In my sculptures, a rugged mark can be seen in the coarse raku ceramics, and a black and white figure has wandered in with astonished eyes, bringing about a sympathetic confusion.

We can all dress up in a bear suit or lie on a floral carpet in a bathing suit – if we feel like it.”
