Exhibition #43 – Anna & Sandra

4.–28.5.2017

Sisters Anna and Sandra Kantanen are exhibiting together for the first time. In a collaboration they are bringing together Anna’s passion to transform everyday objects into luxurious moments, with Sandra’s floral photographic series ”Distortions”. The exhibition is a colourful play on traditional themes seen in a new way.

Anna is a designer with an interest in breaking our perception on everyday objects. Her interest lies especially in tableware and how we display different ingredients and shapes. ”Nouvelle Cousine” inspires Anna where all the elements of taste, ingredients, tableware and layout is considered part of the artistic process.

Sandra is an art photographer working in Hanko. Her new photographic series Distortions addresses a traditional theme of flower arrangements, but rather than observing the flowers the pictures observe time. Without using a camera and playing with exposure times on a scanner, Sandra’s pictures create a dreamy and stretched world of its own kind.
