
Tiina Koivusalo
Tiina Koivusalo (b. 1981) is an artist and designer living in Helsinki. Koivusalo’s artworks are large-scale digital collages. She is interested in the natural world and the environment. Her abstract, neutral-toned pieces play with different materials. In her duo exhibition, Harmony, Entropy, she used photographs of mountains, dried branches, seaweed, fallen leaves and rocks from fifteen countries. Currently, she works on a project concerning Iceland and the Finnish archipelago. Before this, she gained an MA at Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture, in Finland, and also studied at the Rhode Island School of Design in the United States.

Koivusalo runs her own studio in Helsinki and works both independently and with fellow creatives. What’s more, she designs prints for children’s clothing for the sustainable Finnish brand Vimma, combining graphic and spatial design with illustration. She has also worked on sustainability projects to promote cycling in Helsinki, and to raise awareness of water consumption.
