Katriina Nuutinen (b.1983) is one of the leading Finnish designers of her generation, specialising in glass and lightings. Since graduating from the School of Arts, Design and Architecture at Aalto University in 2011, she has worked with materials such as mirror, wood, metal and cork work, which has resulted in successful collaborations.

Nuutinen’s harmonic work mainly consists of lights, interior accessories and tableware. Her designs reflect her fascination towards the field of work, the materials, the process of creating and those who create. Nuutinen’s inner calling, strong drive, and guidance make her creations come alive. She is fascinated by complex and sophisticated technical details, daring combinations of materials, and finding a harmonious mix of colour tones and appealing shape compositions. Essential to her working process is goal-driven toiling, from detailed sketching and form shaping to quick finalising. Glass, her primary material, has excellent qualities to reflect light and colour, to cause optical illusions.
